Despite all the other 'travails' in my life the last few weeks I have been busy preparing for the upcoming income tax preparation season. Questions from clients are beginning to come in.
I have actually prepared one complete tax return which was sent in a few weeks ago.
This will be my first season of operation from the great province of Saskatchewan in the City of Regina. I am beginning to promote my business in and around Regina. I hope to acquire a good number of Saskatchewan-based clients over the next 10 weeks or so.
But I have not forgotten the large number of clients I left behind in the Ottawa area. As many know I am going there for 8 days late next month to provide service to clients living there. I have 'wall to wall' appointments for the 8 1/2 days I will be in that area. I expect to find the experience both EXhausting and EXhilirating.
Canada's personal income tax system does continue to get complicated.. not so much by design but by effect. I am finding (as I think are other preparers) that more and more folks are turning to preparers to do their tax returns. People are also using preparers simply to avoid the 'time' it takes to do returns.
